Bo-Kloof offers this amazing hiking trail to their guests as well as to day visitors.
Waterkloof is a must-see activity when visiting the Baviaanskloof. It requires at least an hour and a half, but one could spend the whole day in this almost magical environment.
On a hot day the Waterkloof is the ideal place to spend some time!
Skollie the Bezuidenhout’s dog has become quite famous as the official hiking guide on the farm.
The hike involves some scrambling but no climbing and the further you go, the narrower and higher the kloof becomes.
The distance is about three kilometers and day visitors have to get a permit from Bo-Kloof reception.
Also in Waterkloof we have 17 Rock climbing routes – grading between 16 and 34.
This route will take you to the top of the Southern Kouga mountain range. You can drive on for about 8km and you have to return via the same route.
This is a walking or cycling route. It also starts at the main homestead and then goes East along the foot of the mountain and then on to our neighbors’ land and ends at Bavijaans padstall.
From there you can walk the same route back or along the main road back to us. The route is about 4.5km to Bavijaans padstall.
There is a shortcut that is about 3.5km but the longer one is worth it. From the padstall it is 1.8km to our homestead.
The kloof is a sport climbers dream. The area is pristine, the rock is excellent, the walk-in is short (about 1.2km) and in summer the kloof stays very cool.
The 17 rock climbing routes in Waterkloof are quite challenging rating from 16 to 34.
You have to bring your own climbing gear.

The Kudu trail is a walking or cycling route.
It also starts at the main homestead and then goes East along the foot of the mountain and then on to our neighbors’ land and ends at the Bavijaans padstal.
From there you can take the same route back or you can come along the main road back to us.
The rest of the farm is also available and you are welcome to drive/cycle or walk around.
Braai packs and fresh baked farm loaf can be provided by prior arrangement.
Braai wood is available.
Visit Bavijaans padstall, it is 1.5km from the main homestead. They have a small menu with breakfast and lunch
options, they also sell lots of other goodies.
